The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Guy Ritchies Rules for Reimagining Spy Flicks
August 13, 2015 5:58 AM EDT
Ever since 1998’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the GRF (Guy Ritchie Film) has stood for rapid-fire banter, slick suits, a vinyl collector’s soundtrack and action sequences that are as winking as they are heart-pounding. Ask the director what defines a GRF and you get a blunt answer: “It’s impossible.” But The Man From U.N.C.L.E. unquestionably is one. Having reinvented the British crime caper, Ritchie now applies his idiosyncratic eye to the spy genre.
The Psychology of Getting Scammed
It sucks to be a sucker. Think about how many sayings we toss around that all mean that very thing: “Don’t take any wooden nickels!” “A fool and his money are soon parted.” “If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.” “There’s one born every minute.”
The message is clear (don’t let that be you!), but it’s hard advice to follow; reality can feel like a relentless gauntlet of proto-frauds and fool’s games—at home, at work, and in the news.

Weekend Recipe: Quinoa With Roasted Pumpkin, Zucchini, Pesto
When I cook dinners at home, I often like to enjoy leftovers for lunch the next day. It’s probably the main reason why I like to double this particular recipe, so I have a grab-and-go healthy meal over the next few days and I don’t have to fuss too much in the kitchen.
I love that I can easily adapt the vegetables I use based on the season. Combinations such as roasted pumpkin and zucchini or asparagus and fresh peas work really well, and then all you have to do is fold through a little quinoa and serve with a generous spoonful of basil pesto.
Why do we yawn | Pulse Nigeria
Scientists have spent years studying yawning, and while they haven't cracked every part of the puzzle, they have discovered a lot about this common behaviour. What is yawning? Yawning is a reflex that involves opening your mouth wide, taking a deep breath, and then exhaling. This process might seem mundane, but it’s quite complex. ADVERTISEMENT
During a yawn, several things happen: your jaw stretches, your eardrums tighten, and sometimes, your eyes water.
