A group of 55 prominent artists and advocates in the entertainment industry have signed an open letter to President Joe Biden, urging for a call for a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. The signatories include names such as Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Susan Sarandon, Mahershala Ali, Riz Ahmed, Ramy Youssef and Quinta Brunson.
“We urge your administration, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay – an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages,” the letter reads.

Biography: Groves oversaw the construction of the Pentagon, the famous headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, and most crucially he oversaw the Manhattan Project during World War II. This top secret role led to the development and eventual use of nuclear weapons.
After serving time with the US Army Corps of Engineers in places such as Nicaragua, where he assisted the city of Managua after a devastating 1931 earthquake, and developing the Pentagon building, he was selected to oversee the Manhattan Project in 1942.
